Bucks County launches unique initiative to combat drug epidemic

There are many factors that contribute to the drug epidemic in the United States, but new effort to encourage residents to turn in the individuals selling dangerous substances.

On Thursday, elected officials and law enforcement officials in Bucks County unveiled the “Push Out The Pusher” campaign. The anti-drug initiative will offer up to $5,000 for tips that lead to a drug dealer’s arrest and conviction.

Malvern Institute operates an outpatient campus in Bucks County, located at 4612 East Street Road in Trevose.

According to the Intelligencer, the new program was formed by the Bucks Crime Stoppers and was the brainchild of state Rep. John Galloway.

“The Bucks initiative aims to raise $100,000 in donations by June 2018 to help fuel the crime-fighting project, Galloway said. To assist in the effort, the group is handing out Push Out The Pusher signs for people to put in their front yard. The signs include the phone number 215-345-3784 where residents can call in drug dealer tips and also the group’s web address.”
