March 21, 2018 – Malvern Institute, the Delaware Valley’s oldest private addiction treatment provider, is celebrating National Social Work Month this March with activities centered around this year’s theme “Social Workers: Leaders. Advocates. Champions.” According to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), this year’s campaign will inform the public and legislators about the crucial role social workers for generations have played in improving the well-being of people and helping our nation become a better place to live.
Malvern Institute recognizes the important assistance that social workers provide in its efforts to help families struggling with the disease of addiction. Social workers are trained to identify situations to connect individuals with communities to address societal issues.
On March 19, Malvern Institute’s Recovery Oriented Community (ROC) program launched a new family support group in Delaware County. ROC helps families get and stay connected with other families through recovery-oriented resources and weekly meetings, facilitated by ROC family members.
