A Message From Chief Clinical Officer Dennis Deal

I am happy about my new role at Malvern Institute as Chief Clinical Officer. Nothing gives me greater joy than to see the work our clinicians do that leads to recovery from this deadly disease. I work with a great team of clinicians who work hard every day to provide the best clinical care and support for people struggling with the disease of addiction. The opioid epidemic is reaching critical levels because no one is immune to addiction; there aren’t many people who haven’t had their lives impacted by the addiction that a friend or family member is battling. The potency of the heroin and presence of Fentanyl can have devastating — often fatal — consequences. Today is International Overdose Awareness Day, and tomorrow is National Recovery Month. This is a great time to remind everyone what’s at stake. We must stand together to inspire more to seek help and enter treatment so they can be on the path to recovery. Please watch our film Lost and Found to understand the devastation of addiction.
