Congressman shares feedback on impact of opioid crisis in Philly suburbs

October 18, 2017 – Breaking the silence and stigma associated with the drug epidemic is a key hurdle to addressing the disease of addiction.

Last week, Rep. Ryan Costello testified on the devastating effects of the opioid crisis in his district, which includes parts of Berks, Chester and Montgomery Counties.

Malvern Treatment Centers operates an inpatient campus (940 West King Road in Malvern) and two outpatient locations (1161 Lancaster Avenue in Berwyn and 1566 Medical Drive, Suite 201 in Pottstown) in Costello’s district.

“Throughout my Congressional district and throughout this nation, there are parents, teachers, athletes, doctors, teenagers, and seniors struggling with addiction – a disease that has no boundaries when it comes to who it affects,” he said while announcing support for a proposed bill that would allow families options to cover the cost of addiction treatment.
