Local elected officials hosting overdose awareness walk

September 29, 2017 – Residents of the Delaware Valley are invited this weekend to participate in an event to raise awareness for drug overdose and treating addiction.

On Sunday, State Representatives Madeleine Dean and Thomas Murt are hosting the Overdose Awareness Walk and Hope Expo in Montgomery County. The event will be held at the Hatboro Baptist Church, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

In May, Malvern Institute partnered with both Reps. Murt and Dean to hold a community forum on treating drug and alcohol addiction. Malvern operates an inpatient campus in their districts at 240 Fitzwatertown Road in Willow Grove.

“Opioid addiction is crippling communities all across the Commonwealth. We must draw attention to this crisis and show families that there is help available,” the invite reads.

If you or a loved one are living with addiction and have any questions about the Malvern Intervention Services or the Malvern 90-Day Model, please give us a call at 610.MALVERN (610.625.8376).
